In a small town called Agua Azul, located 5 minutes driving from La Fortuna, San Carlos, we can find a family that still lives on the obtained land and animals products. In the most environmentally sustainable way, it has been developed the opportunity to visit this farm and learning about the original culture of the Costa Rican being and our farmers daily life.
Upon arrival, our welcome will be with a refreshing natural juice, immediately we will notice that in this place there are no preservatives or chemicals to which we are accustomed.
We will go on to carry out activities that at this moment are just stories of our grandparents, such as the manual milking of cows, observing and tasting the distillation process of the liquor in an artisanal way, of the chocolate, and of the milk recently milked. We will peel sugarcane to test it and extract its juice, combining it with different ingredients such as liquor, peppermint and other organic products obtained at the farm.
For those who love plants, we will visit an orchid plantation and an orchard with a great variety of medicinal plants.
Finally, we will be participants in the lunch preparation; with the owner of the place, we will learn the recipe to cook a typical lunch in the old way.
Adults and children will forever remember the essence of the Costa Rican Campesino from the North zone of our country.
